SUMMARY:Prohibition Inhibitions - Big Band Concert and Fundraiser
DESCRIPTION:Buy Tickets $40 each.   (note tickets will be at the will call table at the event)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSpeakeasy theme celebrating 100 years since the ratification of the XVIII Amendment of the Constitution: the prohibition amendment. Attendees invited to dress in a 1920’s theme while enjoying music by Big Time Jazz Orchestra! There will be a best dressed contest as well as a silent/live auction. Partial proceeds to benefit UMD and UWS music programs for scholarship funds. Proceeds will also benefit Superior Morning Rotary and Douglas County Historical Society. The year is 1868 when Philadelphia banker Jay Cooke and his wife\nvisited Superior to determine whether or not to invest in building a railroad. While Mr. Cooke attends to\nbusiness\, Mrs. Cooke is meeting with residents of the community to get acquainted and find out more\nabout this newly developing community.
