SUMMARY:History Sunday - A historical perspective on fly-fishing the Bois Brule River
DESCRIPTION:Douglas County Historical Society History Sunday\nMarch 24th 2pm (doors open at 1pm)\nFree to DCHS Members\, $2 for non-members \nA historical perspective on fly-fishing the Bois Brule River \nDamian Wilmot has been guiding the Bois Brule since 1989. He is one in a long line of Brule river stewards that has helped maintain the traditions that have made the river into what it is today\, a blue-ribbon\, wilderness bastion of the wild brook\, brown and rainbow trout and their Superior-born\, lake-run brethren. Damian believes in fishing the Brule the traditional way. His program involves wooden canoes\, cane rods and of course the Brule Fry\, a traditional dinner of steak\, potatoes\, and bacon cooked riverside over a Brule Stove. Damian’s clients not only get to fish a legendary Northwoods river\, but they also get to participate in local angling traditions that go back well over a century.
